The Whole-History ratings for MMA are automated ratings, re-generated every Monday. The rating system is an improvement on the Elo system and retroactively updates past ratings based on current performances in an attempt to produce accurate approximate ratings of the skills of each fighter at any given time. The original whitepaper for this rating system can be found here.
Event ratings are calculated by averaging the top 10 ratings of fighters who were on the card, using the ratings of each fighter immediately after the event. Promotion ratings are the average rating of the top 50 fighters at each promotion.
